art-wise i don't rly like this one too much, i realized that i don't like drawing completely front-facing portraits at all and actually struggled a LOT... my friend said legacy looked like the default roblox man face and it was so over. like the idea of redoing this one someday but at the same time, i don't want to think about it 😭

now for some character ramble...

okay okay okahyy this is gonna be some level 4 headcanon nonsense but please. please bear with me as i talk about my headcanons/personal read of these characters.

i designed flux first way before these guys. the spade on his chest initially had no symbolic meaning, just an extra flourish for aesthetic purposes. but while i was designing 3below and trying to figure out theming, the idea came to me: 3-below...? three... clover... CLUBS? LUMINARA GOVERNMENT MEMBERS WITH CARD SUIT THEMING???? i did some very surface level research and then became so happy because they VAGUELY fit these characters omg. dude i can stretch this. it's not very deep but it's FUN AS HELL FOR ME OKAY lemme cook

my personal vision of 3below is of a preppy and idealistic leader and i wanted his fashion sense to reflect it. i gave him a very in-your-face captain-esque/musketeer-esque coat & hat. he's also on the shorter side so his jacket is super bulky to make himself look bigger. "we are enlightened, we are the light, we are luminara" ...he may have a noble cause and a good heart but that doesn't mean he can't be in over his head a little, lol. he's a small guy with big roles to fill, i wanted his design to embody this :]

i chose to theme 3below after the club suit not only because of the "3" in his name but because the club symbol is super humble, represents hardworking, and is typically one of the weaker card symbols. with 3below's selfless goals of innovation & bridging the islands together, i think it'd be fitting if he gave that symbol to himself. meanwhile, flux has a spade on his collar; not only a military symbol but associated w nobility and conflict, and in card terms is v powerful. of course the egotistical bastard would give himself a higher symbol than the president while he's in a rank under him....... oh flux.

giving legacy the diamond suit is really fun because it represents the merchant class which was his role in state s1.0, but also because it represents material gain and one of shima's catchphrases was "we are rich!" also legacy was the one who planted the golden fountain at luminara ehhhehehheheheh.
despite the materialistic motif, legacy's more of a man-of-the-people figure to me. his lower rank as only a luminara sub-faction leader allowed him to be more involved with the everyday man, spending the early days building up luminara's infrastructure. his visitation and diplomacy to other nations on day 8 also strengthened multiple alliances. in my vision he's more warm and down-to-earth than his counterparts - a lawful neutral kinda character. because of this, his design is really simple. just a collared shirt and vest. reasoning behind the feather earring is obvious bcs yeah he likes parrots lol.
