aug 3 '25 – huuuge update, mostly page reformatting

• added new pages (doodles 2, blog, oc playlists) including some new and old blog entries :)
• improved topbar & collapsable sidebar styling for mobile. now it doesn't squish the entire <main> block but drops down from the top of the screen :D there were also minor edits to the desktop version.
• added an art inspo blurb to the favorites page
• reformatted the microblog page (formerly named 'journal') and added new entries
• updated reference sheets for archer, otis, and callisto on the oc page
• renamed the search gallery page to just search.html
• renamed some folders from the 23/24 monthly galleries to keep consistency
• minor style changes to the whole site (hard edges, borders to images)

may 19 '25 – uploaded 'savior' repainting from the dec-mar gallery.

apr 13 '25 – some quality of life changes. i rearranged a gazillion file paths so the 403 Forbidden nginx should stop randomly happening now... also i literally just realized i wasn't using absolute file paths in my js files so i fixed that too.

mar 15 '25 – css edits, 2 lil microblog entries, fixed a link on dec-feb page and other minor quality-of-life changes

mar 4 '25 – new art batch and everything that comes with:

• dec 2024-feb 2025 art batch is up!
• the concise gallery has some visual updates along with the newest arts added to it
• i updated the topbar for the commentary pages to become hidden when you're scrolling down. i was super peeved that the bar hid the artwork's visibility so that sorts it a little.
• one lil microblog entry
• a height chart for the PTC characters is in the OCs page now

jan 27 '24 – microblog entry batch

dec 26 '24 – meri crisler. uploaded a "complete" version of the artblog gallery with a more concise sorting system. also replaced the reference sheets for isra, archer, and esme on the OCs page. minor sentence rewrites on other pages.

nov 20 '24 – huge update

• july-november art batch is up!
• re-organized the about page and split it into 3 separate pages. it was a long time coming and i think it looks wayy nicer.
• new blurb about my favorite OCs the end of the ocs page ;]
• artfight retrospective is up. i had this one pre-written for a while, i finally decided to get it up.
• new blurb on the favorites page
• a whole new batch of journal entries
• new style of button up on the about me page

aug 20 '24 – site restructuring + some visual changes. this season's artfight entries have also been uploaded.

jun 21 '24 – new slop in the may artblog.

may 29 '24 – may artblog up! guestbook also added to homepage

mar 11 '24 – doodle dump posted in jan page, artblog landing page is entirely reformatted, new buttons and 'abt the art' blurb posted in info page, one new microblog entry, AND new nav links in the topbar for monthly galleries :D

oct 14 '23 – aug-sept artblog up! also I DID IT, I FUCKING DID IT. I FIXED THE SHITASS BUG THAT CAUSED THE TOPBAR ELEMENTS TO SHIFT AROUND ON SAFARI AND ONLY SAFARI FOR SOME REASON. IT'S ALWAYS SAFARI MAN, SO ANNOYING RAAAAGHHHHHH.

this doesn't look very different from the current site version (3.3.5). main difference is the headers, topbar, and button sizes are all larger, and the edges of the scrollable content are sharp and not round. there wasn't much reason to change the css from here - some elements just needed to be shrunken i think. oh yeah the grid in the background is also gone and so is the scrollable content's top margin.

this screenshot and the next one are blurry as hell. unfortunately i don't have many screenshots of this era. this one was ripped straight from a neocities thumbnail. anyhow, i'd hardened the scrollable's edges and moved up the sidebar. not much else.

AHH!! SANS-SERIF. IT'S BACK!! i'm testing out styling again, trying to figure out how to make the site softer without sacrificing the layout. i also thought that off-centering everything caused too much white space and so i centered everything again. this one's cluttered as hell

i off-centered the sidebar and content box! i learned how to use the <main> tag and how to make scrollable sections without containing it in a box like last time! wowie! i'm also using mono fonts now, and the borders of scrollables and images alike are weirdly inconsistent in thickness. but at least the code is better.

ackkkk.... i don't know why i decided to round the edges of the main content box, it completely ruined the vibe of the previous style i think. 😭 i also started using sans-serif for some reason... i think i was trying to make the site easier to read/more appealing but the sharpness of the buttons and topbar clashed way too much to make it look good. kind of a flop tbh :\

V2.0

version 2.0 is my favorite out of all of the archives on this site. this was the start of the notebook theming and the use of thin fonts which would persist even into 2024. there's something about this look that's so warm and welcoming, i miss it a lot if i'm honest.

ooo fun story about this first version: the topbar was meant to be a progress bar, where the further you scrolled down the page, the more of that minty color strip you'd see. i couldn't get it to work though, so the 100% brown and mint topbar stayed as is 💀. this metallic look didn't last for very long at all, i think i only created the doodle log, trad log, and first artblog before i ended up changing the color scheme entirely.
